Unzip the hidden base zip
The zip sits on the dotted grip underside rather than on the sleeping surface, and runs open across the base of the mat.

Lift the fill out in sections
The PP cotton comes out as separate filled segments instead of one loose mass of fibre, so each part dries on its own.

Slide it back, still flat
The filled segments go back in side by side, so there is no stuffing, shaking or reshaping to get the mat even again.

The cover comes off. A hidden zip runs across the underside, so the flannel cover goes into the machine on its own and the PP cotton fill lifts out in separate segments to air dry.
What size do I need for a 70 lb dog?
Go by weight rather than by letter: XL 80 x 66 cm is rated to 33 lb, 2XL 100 x 75 cm to 66 lb and 3XL 120 x 95 cm to 110 lb. A 70 lb dog wants the 3XL.
Will the filling clump up the first time I wash it?
The fill is split into separate segments rather than one loose mass of fibre, so it has nowhere to migrate to. Lay the segments back in side by side after washing and the mat is even again.
Is 7 cm of padding enough on a hard floor?
Every size is 7 cm (2.8 in) thick across the full surface, which lifts bony elbows and hips off cold tile or hardwood. Because the fill is segmented rather than loose, there is no thin patch in the middle.
Will it slide across my hardwood when he circles?
The underside is a dotted grip backing rather than plain fabric, so it holds against wood and tile while he circles and digs. On a very slick floor a rug underneath still helps.
Will it fit in a crate or the back of the car?
That depends on the size: the flat, bolster-free mat runs from 45 x 47 cm (M) to 120 x 95 cm (3XL). Measure your crate or car floor and compare it with the size chart before you order.
